This system churns out thousands of graduates every single year, and almost all of these graduates have the same mindset of seeking and getting a job somewhere. Whether or not we accept it, the JOB MARKET is overcrowded and government won’t give everyone a job. Actually every serious government should be more concerned with creating a supportive and enabling environment than creating jobs for its people. Every individual has a talent and a passion, and their wealth and fame lies in their vigorous pursuit of those passions and talents. It’s about time everyone begins learning a skill OR start to develop some latent ability within them. There’s nothing wrong with adding a skill to your degree. It could be learning plumbing, professional driving, wiring a house, tailoring, selling, carpentry, painting, fashion designing, etc, or it could developing some soft skills like becoming a great communicator, writer, or even becoming a motivational speaker or personal development expert. I had gone to give a safety briefing to some contractors and other management staff this day. After the briefing, one of the managers approached me, appreciated the manner of the talk and asked, ” are you a motivational speaker?”. Of course I sad NO. And she enthused I would make a good speaker if I could put my heart into it. I laughed away the talk, but the speech replayed later in my mind as I was preparing to retire to bed in the evening. I Googled on the topic and started to read almost all the materials that came up. That was how I started on the journey to personal development and motivational speaking. Last week, I went to give a give a talk to some youths. Although I refused to take a dime but I left there very fulfilled and I know I’m on my way to adding another skill to my skill pool. In this era, there’s no limit to the skills we can acquire. At the moment, an old man is fixing some plumbing works for me. As we talked, he told me how he’s been looking for youths to assist in learning that skill, but none has shown any interest. As an undergraduate, you can still make plans towards learning a skill while on campus. Skill is the way forward. No great nation ever took skill development for granted. It’s time to learn a skill. Any skill can be a temporal source of income. Men are losing their jobs; competition is fiercer now than ever. Even if you’re seeking to be the best in your chosen field, you can still add a skill. Any skill. Thanks for reading. Have a great day.

About 450 Nigerians deported... form Cameron
Those affected were picked up from Kousseri, a border town between Cameroon and Chad where they had initially been sent packing by the authorities in that country.
They were handed to government officials in Mubi, Adamawa State, North-Eastern Nigeria, according to Africa Review, a Kenyan digital news platform.
A Cameroonian official, Mr. Albert Mekondané Obounou, said those affected, “are foreign nationals without valid documents.”
A security source, who asked not to be named, revealed that the move was also part of an agreement reached by countries leading the fight against the insurgents in the sub-region.
“We decided to send home all foreigners without valid papers. Other countries of the sub-region involved in the fight against Boko Haram had advocated this solution to truly fight against the terrorists who infiltrate people,” the source naija oaded said.

Soldiers Murder 30 Innocent Civillians In Plateau
A yet-to-be-identified number of people have allegedly been killed after soldiers invaded Kadarko, Kurmi and Wadata villages of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State following the alleged killing of four soldiers by persons.
Our correspondent gathered that the soldiers, who arrived the villages in over 40 trucks, were on a revenge mission over the alleged killing of their colleagues at Angwan Nanmi in Karin Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, quoting sources from the village, alleged, during an interview with our correspondent on Saturday, that the military men opened fire on innocent people and burnt houses.
Lipdo said, “Information says soldiers in over 40 trucks arrived Kadarko, Kurmi and Wadata of Wase LGA in Plateau State today (Saturday) following report of alleged killing of four soldiers at Angwan Nanmi, Karin Lamido LGA of Taraba State.
“According to residents, the soldiers arrived and opened fire on innocent people, burning houses. It is not clear why soldiers would open fire on the people they are supposed to defend.
“Sources said it is in retaliation for the killings of their colleagues. Others denied this, more so when two of the four soldiers allegedly killed were even Tarohs from this area.
Villagers would rather believe it is a deliberate plan by the outgoing governor to intimidate the people of the area, following the overwhelming votes from the area that changed the results of the last election.”
Spokesman for the Special Task Force, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, while reacting to the allegation last night, said there was no truth in the claim that its members attacked anybody.
He said the operation was meant to check gunmen, who had been terrorising residents and security personnel in the area.
According to him, following frequent attacks on communities around the Plateau-Taraba border by some militiamen, the STF and soldiers from the 3 Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, had been carrying out operations targeted at flushing out the militiamen.
He argued that soldiers, who were working to protect innocent civilians, could not turn around to kill the same civilians.
