This system churns out thousands of graduates every single year, and almost all of these graduates have the same mindset of seeking and getting a job somewhere. Whether or not we accept it, the JOB MARKET is overcrowded and government won’t give everyone a job. Actually every serious government should be more concerned with creating a supportive and enabling environment than creating jobs for its people. Every individual has a talent and a passion, and their wealth and fame lies in their vigorous pursuit of those passions and talents. It’s about time everyone begins learning a skill OR start to develop some latent ability within them. There’s nothing wrong with adding a skill to your degree. It could be learning plumbing, professional driving, wiring a house, tailoring, selling, carpentry, painting, fashion designing, etc, or it could developing some soft skills like becoming a great communicator, writer, or even becoming a motivational speaker or personal development expert. I had gone to give a safety briefing to some contractors and other management staff this day. After the briefing, one of the managers approached me, appreciated the manner of the talk and asked, ” are you a motivational speaker?”. Of course I sad NO. And she enthused I would make a good speaker if I could put my heart into it. I laughed away the talk, but the speech replayed later in my mind as I was preparing to retire to bed in the evening. I Googled on the topic and started to read almost all the materials that came up. That was how I started on the journey to personal development and motivational speaking. Last week, I went to give a give a talk to some youths. Although I refused to take a dime but I left there very fulfilled and I know I’m on my way to adding another skill to my skill pool. In this era, there’s no limit to the skills we can acquire. At the moment, an old man is fixing some plumbing works for me. As we talked, he told me how he’s been looking for youths to assist in learning that skill, but none has shown any interest. As an undergraduate, you can still make plans towards learning a skill while on campus. Skill is the way forward. No great nation ever took skill development for granted. It’s time to learn a skill. Any skill can be a temporal source of income. Men are losing their jobs; competition is fiercer now than ever. Even if you’re seeking to be the best in your chosen field, you can still add a skill. Any skill. Thanks for reading. Have a great day.

About 450 Nigerians deported... form Cameron
Those affected were picked up from Kousseri, a border town between Cameroon and Chad where they had initially been sent packing by the authorities in that country.
They were handed to government officials in Mubi, Adamawa State, North-Eastern Nigeria, according to Africa Review, a Kenyan digital news platform.
A Cameroonian official, Mr. Albert Mekondané Obounou, said those affected, “are foreign nationals without valid documents.”
A security source, who asked not to be named, revealed that the move was also part of an agreement reached by countries leading the fight against the insurgents in the sub-region.
“We decided to send home all foreigners without valid papers. Other countries of the sub-region involved in the fight against Boko Haram had advocated this solution to truly fight against the terrorists who infiltrate people,” the source naija oaded said.

Soldiers Murder 30 Innocent Civillians In Plateau
A yet-to-be-identified number of people have allegedly been killed after soldiers invaded Kadarko, Kurmi and Wadata villages of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State following the alleged killing of four soldiers by persons.
Our correspondent gathered that the soldiers, who arrived the villages in over 40 trucks, were on a revenge mission over the alleged killing of their colleagues at Angwan Nanmi in Karin Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, quoting sources from the village, alleged, during an interview with our correspondent on Saturday, that the military men opened fire on innocent people and burnt houses.
Lipdo said, “Information says soldiers in over 40 trucks arrived Kadarko, Kurmi and Wadata of Wase LGA in Plateau State today (Saturday) following report of alleged killing of four soldiers at Angwan Nanmi, Karin Lamido LGA of Taraba State.
“According to residents, the soldiers arrived and opened fire on innocent people, burning houses. It is not clear why soldiers would open fire on the people they are supposed to defend.
“Sources said it is in retaliation for the killings of their colleagues. Others denied this, more so when two of the four soldiers allegedly killed were even Tarohs from this area.
Villagers would rather believe it is a deliberate plan by the outgoing governor to intimidate the people of the area, following the overwhelming votes from the area that changed the results of the last election.”
Spokesman for the Special Task Force, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, while reacting to the allegation last night, said there was no truth in the claim that its members attacked anybody.
He said the operation was meant to check gunmen, who had been terrorising residents and security personnel in the area.
According to him, following frequent attacks on communities around the Plateau-Taraba border by some militiamen, the STF and soldiers from the 3 Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, had been carrying out operations targeted at flushing out the militiamen.
He argued that soldiers, who were working to protect innocent civilians, could not turn around to kill the same civilians.

Buhari Drops Governors Fashola & Fayemi From Ministerial List
All is not well with the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party’s rank and file seems in disarray following the alleged dropping of the names of Lagos governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and former Ekiti State governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi from the ministerial list of President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
According to our investigation, both men who are supposed to be candidates of the national leader of the party Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not be enjoying the support of the Jagaban of Borgu kingdom that is expected to press for their inclusion. National Weekender learnt that their names were initially pencilled down on the list still being worked on before final vetting by the party’s national leadership but on advice of a very powerful chieftain in the South West, the names of the duo were erased.
This development has irked the trio of governors Chibuike Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Rochas Okorocha and Adams Oshiohmole of Rivers, Kano, Imo and Edo States respectively. The governors in a show of solidarity for the duo who belongs to their constituency (Governors Forum even as Fayemi is no longer in office) felt slighted that they were not carried along in the decision to drop both men who had worked tirelessly to actualize the victory of the party in the 2015 General Elections.
Recall that Fayemi was Director of Media and Publicity of Buhari’s Campaign Organization even as Fashola played a supporting role behind the Director-General Gov. Amaechi. To this end, the governors frowned at the dropping of their names since it was not a reward for their hard work but rather an exercise of ingratitude which is capable of disuniting the party. Feelers from the party suggest that Fayemi was to get the portfolio of Minister for Information since he is the face of the party in Ekiti despite losing to Ayo Fayose in the gubernatorial election held on June 26 2014.
Meanwhile Fashola would have been Minister for Works on account of his performance as governor of Lagos.
Our investigation further reveals that as replacements for Fashola and Fayemi, the very powerful party chieftain moving for their exclusion has recommended Sen. Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon and former governor, Segun Oni respectively. Says one of our sources, “ there is real trouble brewing within our party. A powerful member of the party in the South West has called for the names of Fashola and Fayemi to be dropped from the ministerial list. This has not gone down well with some very influential members of the party who are governors.
“Kwankwaso who is a great admirer of Fashola has kicked the decision to drop the latter into touch. He enjoys the support of Governors Amaechi, Oshiohmole and Okorocha. These governors feel that if this powerful party chieftain is not stopped now he may run their interests down in the party. A meeting will be held before the final ratification of the list by the party’s leadership and the aggrieved governors want to seize the opportunity to make their position known. And it is simply that Fashola and Fayemi must be on Buhari’s cabinet.”
National Weekender scooped that the second term move of Fashola which was against the wish of his godfather Tinubu was responsible for his plight. He is perhaps paying the prize for doing a second term. It is believed that he has not been forgiven by Tinubu for daring the Lion of Bourdillon. On Fayemi’s part, it is said that Tinubu is still angry with him for carelessly conceding defeat to Fayose in the 2014 governorship election when he actually had everything going for him. But Fayemi’s real sin was to have congratulated Fayose after the result of the election was announced without getting clearance from Tinubu.
One of our sources says, “This ministerial list is a very contentious issue especially as it concerns the dropping of the names of both men. Buhari is yet to say anything about the list because the leadership of the party entrusted the exercise in the hands of Tinubu who is the clearing house and coordinating all the interest groups within the party and those chosen to pick or appoint candidates. Mat be he will eventually speak at the meeting where expectedly the leadership of the party will take a stand.

pollution: Lagos shuts 24 religious outfits over noise
Lagos—The Lagos State government
yesterday said at least 24 religious outfits were shut in year 2014 for
contravening the State guidelines on noise pollution.
The state government further said the new Material Recovery Facility,
would be established to capture the huge waste generated daily and
boost the Waste-to-wealth programme in the state.
Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello and General Manager of
the Lagos State Environment Protection, LASEPA, Mr Ademola Shabi, an
engineer, disclosed this at the 2015 ministerial press briefing held in
Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
Shabi reeling out the activities of his agency in the year under
review added that 13 industries were shut for violating the
environmental guidelines set by the government.
He lamented that the pollution generated daily in the state was
increasing and the government must embark on measures to reduce it,
adding; “We received over 1, 000 petitions in the year under review. But
we have been able to resolve some and some have relocated.”
According to him, “We have shut about 24 religious outfits in the
last one year because they failed to adhere to the state guidelines on
noise pollution.”
The general manager explained that these religious outfits contribute
“the religious outfits contribute about 50 percent of the noise
pollution in the state. In the last few years, we have been having
problem to control noise from these outfits. We have been able to shut
them down while some have relocated from the community where they were.

MASS DEFECT FROM APC TO PDP.... WHAT IKOKWU THINKS OF APC
SECOND Republic Politician and one
of the founders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Guy Ikokwu,
has commended leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for
closing their door to defectors, who were trooping to the party from the
PDP and other parties.
Ikokwu, who is also the President of Pan Ndigbo Forum (PNF) said the advice is in order and will enhance democracy.
Since the PDP lost the March 28 presidential polls and most of the governorship and legislative seats at the state and federal levels, a host of PDP stalwarts had been defecting to the APC in droves with their supporters.
President-elect, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), last week said those defecting to the APC would not be considered for appointment. The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement, spoke in like manner and advised those leaving the PDP for the APC to remain where they are.
His take on APC’s stand: Report from the APC Committee as elaborated by their Media Director Alhaji Lai Mohammed revealed that the president-elect, the party chairman and the party leaders are not in favour of any more embrace with political defectors who were referred to as fair weather collaborators.

WHY GEN. M BUHARI BARRED AIT
Security officials attached to Muhammadu Buhari have barred African
Independent Television (AIT) from covering the functions of the
president-elect till further notice.
Buhari Clamps Down On AIT
The security team according to Punch cited security reports and ethical issues as reasons for their action.
The directive which took effect on Monday, April 27, was enforced when members of AIT crew, who were at the Defence House to cover of a meeting between Buhari and a visiting Cuban delegation, were asked to leave.
Confirming this to Punch, the crew said: Yes, we were told but we cannot just leave; we have a job to do. In any case, we have not been officially informed about what we have done wrong.
On why AIT was restricted from covering functions of the president-elect, Mallam Garba Sheh, the director of press of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation, noted that security concerns informed the decision.
He said: “AIT has been asked to stay aside based on security and family concerns. In addition, General Buhari has decided that they will have to resolve some issues relating to issues of standard and ethics.
“We will be talking with them to try and resolve the matter but for now, the station has been asked to stay aside because, like I said, there are some family and security concerns.
“They have been asked to step down their coverage until we resolve the matter with them on ethics and standards.”
In weeks building up the presidential election, AIT was criticized for airing a documentary, “The Real Buhari” which x-rayed the retired general’s past military regime as one that become the first to sentence a woman to death by firing squad.
The documentary was described by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a“fabricated and hate broadcast” against its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) also indicted the African Independent Television (AIT) and the National Television Authority (NTA) for the airing several documentaries which maligned the image of Muhammadu Buhari. see more at naijaloaded.com

BOKO HARAM KILL 21 IN YOBE
Twenty-one persons have been killed by men suspected to be
insurgents, dressed in military camouflage, in a highway attack in Yobe
State.
The 21 persons, according to a local vigilante source, had been
residing in Damaturu after fleeing their communities earlier captured by
the insurgents.
But at the weekend, they undertook a trip to their communities to
carry some foodstuffs from their silos because they felt that peace had
returned to the place.
However, the victims who had been displaced from Lazarawa, Ngirbua,
Maram and Garin Kuyama villages miscalculated as they were attacked on
their way on Yobe Road.
The source claimed that the victims were intercepted and killed in Bultaram village on their way back to Damaturu.
“They opened fire on all of them, we believe they cannot be soldiers but insurgents dressed in military camouflage,” he said.

NACOSS SOFTWARE SUMMIT 2015
I have been opportuned to be at the NIGERIAN ASSOCIATION OF COMPUTERS SCIENCE STUDENTS (NACOSS) national software summit 2015.. tagged: Using the software to solve real world problems..... powered by ISPON, NCS, ACCENTURE, NTA, CHANNELS TV ETC... I confess its a rare one... during the software exhibition section, I saw young Nigeria IT student displaying so many wonderful software.. I was stunned.... the question I asked was, 'if these students could do this much with the little support and facilities provided in our tertiary institutions... what will happen when they are properly supported and provided the necessary and improved material and learning environ?
I beg of our governments to look into OURICT & IT STUDENTS' situation.... as IT And ICT are the major sector of our economy... special thanks to the numerous sponsors who played great role in the success of the project and who believed in the ability of our students... thanks alot pls keep supporting Nigeria
made softwares.. we can do it.

Elections and Politics in Nigeria
POLITICS IN NIGERIA
{Elections in Nigeria, game
politicians play on the poor masses}
I stand to write not
against my country's politics or our renowned politicians to air my view and
observation in our current and past electoral practices i witnessed as a
citizen.
With a bird eye-view, no
matter how i look at it i still see "elections as a game our politicians
and leaders play on us".
Just like the game of
soccer and every other game, the politicians are the coaches manipulating its
subjects and citizens (Players) who have a common goal which is electing a good
leader who will use the resources of the state to better the lives of its
citizens. But in the end unlike other games where the glory and benefits of the
victory is enjoyed equally by both coaches and players, they abandon their
players most of whom sustained injuries or loosed their properties and lives in
the course of the electoral processes, and swallow the glory and benefits
alone.
What do they Coach?
Exposing their youth to
violence from opposing parties.
Encouraging thuggrey by
training the citizens they want to save into political thugs.
People Killing their
brothers and friends who are of different political opinion as them, and so
many other social vices which destroy their motherland, People will give up
their lives recklessly just to make sure you rule at the end of the day you
covert power and public fund into your kitchen.
Why do i keep believing
that they know who will and when he will rule and just want to fulfill all
righteousness by conducting so called election where our votes does not count,
just to please democracy?
Why would a leader at the
end of his tenure want to appoint the next ruler as he or she sees fit without
allowing the ruled choose their fate?
Why will and aged citizen
vote for his age mate when his children are lying at home jobless waiting to be
the future leaders while during their own age they were head of states and
ministers between the ages of 25 and 35.
I can’t cry enough if even
my eyeballs are falling. The foolish youths among us allow themselves to be
used as tools and their rightful places taken right under their noses, and you
claim you are jobless, how are we sure of achieving our dreams when our
yesterday leaders still leads and might even be the future leaders in or place,
yet they campaigned for change they cannot afford.
I can’t even say it all
here because the more i think of it, the more i want to go insane.
To the president Elect of
the Federal republic of Nigeria, Gen. M Buhari, although i never supported you
but I still want to congratulate you using this opportunity, please remember
the people that believed in you, supported and voted for you. Please we need
those changes you promised especially the youths.
THE TREKKING MAN
A man claimed he had to trek from Lagos to Abuja just to congratulate the president elect, Gen. Buhari lets analyze see how possible this might be.
On an ideal situation (Road Conditions, Diversions, Weather Conditions, Traffic, etc. affect driving distance), a driving journey from Lagos to Abuja by road (Lagos –> Abuja) is approximately 587 Minutes – 9 hour(s) 47 minutes(s).
That means it would take a car in good working condition just approximately 10 hours from Lagos to Abuja by the route on the Map below.
Having said that, what time would it take an average person to walk the same distance? How many hours would he have to walk each day? And in how many days would he complete his journey?
Let’s assume Buhari was officially declared winner of the election on the 30th of March 2015 and our trekking guy started his journey on the 2nd of April 2015….!!!
If by 20th of April 2015 Hamisu Abubakar arrived the FCT on foot, it is also confortable to conclude that it took him 18days to walk from Lagos to Abuja on foot.
24 Hours in a day by 18days would be 432 Hours…. How many hours did he walk each day to complete his task in 18 days considering the fact that from Lagos to Abuja is approximately 736.6km?
