Elections and Politics in Nigeria

POLITICS IN NIGERIA

{Elections in Nigeria, game politicians play on the poor masses}

I stand to write not against my country's politics or our renowned politicians to air my view and observation in our current and past electoral practices i witnessed as a citizen.

With a bird eye-view, no matter how i look at it i still see "elections as a game our politicians and leaders play on us".

Just like the game of soccer and every other game, the politicians are the coaches manipulating its subjects and citizens (Players) who have a common goal which is electing a good leader who will use the resources of the state to better the lives of its citizens. But in the end unlike other games where the glory and benefits of the victory is enjoyed equally by both coaches and players, they abandon their players most of whom sustained injuries or loosed their properties and lives in the course of the electoral processes, and swallow the glory and benefits alone.

What do they Coach?

Exposing their youth to violence from opposing parties.
Encouraging thuggrey by training the citizens they want to save into political thugs.
People Killing their brothers and friends who are of different political opinion as them, and so many other social vices which destroy their motherland, People will give up their lives recklessly just to make sure you rule at the end of the day you covert power and public fund into your kitchen.

Why do i keep believing that they know who will and when he will rule and just want to fulfill all righteousness by conducting so called election where our votes does not count, just to please democracy?

Why would a leader at the end of his tenure want to appoint the next ruler as he or she sees fit without allowing the ruled choose their fate?

Why will and aged citizen vote for his age mate when his children are lying at home jobless waiting to be the future leaders while during their own age they were head of states and ministers between the ages of 25 and 35.

I can’t cry enough if even my eyeballs are falling. The foolish youths among us allow themselves to be used as tools and their rightful places taken right under their noses, and you claim you are jobless, how are we sure of achieving our dreams when our yesterday leaders still leads and might even be the future leaders in or place, yet they campaigned for change they cannot afford.

I can’t even say it all here because the more i think of it, the more i want to go insane.
To the president Elect of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Gen. M Buhari, although i never supported you but I still want to congratulate you using this opportunity, please remember the people that believed in you, supported and voted for you. Please we need those changes you promised especially the youths.
